There is also the MSU-MD technology that is very similar to this. 2. This also works on FPGA devices like the Mega SG. 3. Be sure to update your FW/OS on your device. It can resolve issues before you have them. 4. I find some of these to be transformative. Playing Street Fighter II with the original arcade music is absolutely awesome. Kinda like if there had been a Sega CD version. 5. If you are a straight up hater of FM synth, this technology is an absolute must.

Fantasy Zone II DX The Tears of Opa Opa was released as a stand alone cab in Japan. 3. The System 16 hit the arcade nearly 3 years before Capcom's CPS and nearly 5 years before the Neo Geo. 4. I often wonder what the Genesis would have been like had its VDP been more like the System 16. That sprite scaling could have made a world of difference. 5. There were more System 16 titles than I covered here. More sports, puzzle, and Japanese-centric material.

I have seen the CPS labeled as both the Power System and Play System for years. I prefer the Power System. 3. The CPS Changer wasn't really a console at all. It was full arcade boards sold in a housing that was similar to the CPS Dash. The actual CPS Changer itself was essentially just a Supergun that connected to these full-sized boards and supported SNES controllers and connections to a TV and power source. 4. Look for most of these in modern collections. Just search Capcom using your favorite service. 5. Many of these were ported home in the 90s. They were rarely ever arcade perfect, even on the Saturn and Playstation.

My Game Gear has a modded screen but no TV output. 2. The Game Gear was re-issued by Majesco, as were many of its games in 2000. 3. In South Korea, the Game Gear was known as the Handy Gam Boy. 4. The Game Gear was not Sega's only handheld. In 1995 Sega released the Nomad, a portable Genesis. 5. I tried to streamline this one a bit and not spend time on factoids like who made it or when it was released. I wanted it to flow smoothly from game to game just on the merits of why it was chosen. 6. You may notice that Royal Stone is in my Top 10 but not in this episode. While I enjoyed Royal Stone quite a bit, I felt Defenders of Oasis and Shining Force Gaiden III would have a stronger appeal to the majority of you.

The 32X library was small enough that I pretty much played everything as it was released. 4. I owned a Saturn and 32X together for a while. Once it was clear the 32X was doomed, I dropped it and sold what I had. 5. I always wondered what a 32X version of Outrunners, Alien 3, and Revenge of Death Adder could have done for the systems sales. I mean Sega had the games in theory to support it. We just never got them.

Fight for Life on the Jaguar is worse, but not by much. 3. I still own this for both the Saturn and PS. I even have the Japanese Saturn edition. I do not know why. 4. Game Pro's original review of the PS edition is complete garbage. They rated it unbelievably well, all while actually making mistakes in the review that make you question whether they even played it. 5. This one is cheap so feel free to try it out. I can't imagine many of you will enjoy it, but it's a hell of a talking point when bringing up bad games.

MGS3 is footage from the modern remaster. 2. I still play modern games of course, but I don't feel the same about them. Many are fun and I enjoy them, they just don't possess the same magic. The amount of multiplatform games is staggering today, making everything feel the same. Even when a platform exclusive hits, it tends to be modeled after something that's been around for 20 years now. Games are getting bigger with more to do, but they feel more cookie cutter in the process.

I mixed in some regional changes to the content just for extra information. This was not meant to be a focus on such information. 4. Some games underwent complete visual overhauls in addition to the name changes. That's why I showed DEcapAttack briefly in the beginning. 5. Soleil is pronounced "So-lay", the French word for sun. I didn't know that for years of course and always called it "Soleel". Still do. 6. Gynoug is a game I have seen pronounced 20 different ways. I still don't know which one is correct.

Soul Fighter used composite cables for the capture. When using SCART, the visuals were all kinds of messed up. 3. Seventh Cross Evolution needs a remake. I feel with an improved graphics presentation, some streamlined design choices, and faster action, it would be a very interesting game. 4. I showed a few other bad games in the beginning. Stuff like South Park Rally, Nightmare Creatures 2, and Soldier of Fortune could easily have made this list. 5. I wanted to reboot my bad games episodes under one branding. "Steaming Piles" will now take over as my main bad games series. 6. It really is interesting to go back and see some of those reviews covering multiplatform games. The DC reviews were almost always worse. This is despite better resolution and performance many times.

A-Wave did a number of fishing games including Sea Bass Fishing from the ST-V Titan/Saturn. 3. T's Music Co. did the sound for the Sega CD version. They did a number of soundtracks for Sega over the years and across numerous platforms. High-profile examples include Sakura Wars, Space Channel 5, and Blood Will Tell. 4. This was included on the Sega Genesis Mini 2. 5. The color hack for this doesn't lessen the grainy look but does bring it more in line with the arcade colors. 6. I can only assume that this port is the reason why Sega did not make an original Streets of Rage for the Sega CD.

I supported the PlayStation all the way up until the PS2 launched. 3. NFL GameDay remained the platforms most popular NFL title until around 2001 when Madden began to pass it in sales and quality. 4. Symphony of the Night and Resident Evil saw ports to the Saturn, but I played them far more on the PlayStation. 5. I don't feel the Saturn would have had any real trouble doing any of these games had a strong developer been attached to them, but as something like Symphony of the Night indicated, that would not have always been the case. 6. The PlayStation was on the market and supported with new releases for more than a decade. It's longevity was unreal considering this was Sony's first console attempt.
