2022 Toyota Land Cruiser - Gorgeous Large SUV! 06:36
2022 Toyota Land Cruiser - Gorgeous Large SUV!
2022 Toyota Land Cruiser First Look: Forbidden 4x4 Fruit An all-new Land Cruiser finally debuts, but we’ll only be getting the Lexus version. One of the best-known vehicles in the world is getting a long-awaited replacement with the debut of the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser. Unfortunately for Americans, we won't be getting it. The new model, known internally and to Land Cruiser enthusiasts as the 300 Series, is a melding of the tried-and-true 200 Series that's been around since 2007 and the GA-F derivative of Toyota's newer TNGA platform. Although it's still a body-on-frame truck-based vehicle, the Land Cruiser's frame has been redesigned in an effort to reduce weight and increase rigidity. Toyota claims the 2022 Land Cruiser is 441 pounds lighter than the old model, which we weighed at 5,774 pounds in five-seat configuration and 5,874 pounds in standard seven-seat configuration. Toyota claims to have also lowered the center of gravity (making it less likely to tip over in extreme situations) and improved the weight distribution, although its reported 53/47 percent weight distribution matches that of the last 200 Series Land Cruiser we tested. Pour out a Kirin for the long-serving naturally aspirated V-8, as it's been replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 making 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, an improvement of 28 hp and 78 lb-ft. In global markets, the Land Cruiser has long been offered with diesel engines as well, and this generation will have an available 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V-6 with 304 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will mate to a 10-speed automatic transmission and feature full-time four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case. In certain markets, a naturally aspirated gas V-6 with a six-speed automatic will also be available. Regardless, Toyota notes the engine and transmission sit 2.8 inches further back and 1.1 inches lower in the new SUV relative to the old one. Putting down the power is an updated suspension, though details are thin. The independent front and live-axle rear suspension designs remain, but the company claims to have improved articulation all around. Toyota's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, KDSS, has been updated to E-KDSS, though no details were given. KDSS worked by using hydraulic pressure to modify the resistance of the anti-roll bars or effectively disable them, improving both on-road and off-road performance as needed. We surmise E-KDSS replaces the centrally mounted hydraulic pump and lines with a pair of pumps, one for each axle, which may allow the system to control the axles separately for greater control of body and wheel movements. Also assisting off-road are a pair of electronic aides: Multi-Terrain Monitor and Multi-Terrain Select. The former is a camera system that allows the driver to see obstacles that may be obscured by the hood or other parts of the vehicle. The latter automatically changes the drive mode based on the terrain rather than requiring the driver to do it manually. All of the suspension and off-road tech updates were reportedly put through their paces by both Toyota engineers and professional drivers from the company's Dakar Rally team. Getting anywhere off-road requires clearance and good approach, departure, and breakover angles. Toyota has not provided these figures yet, but it does say the exterior dimensions and approach and departure angles are the same as the previous model despite the new styling. This would make the new Land Cruiser 194.9 inches long, 77.9 inches wide, and 74.0 inches tall with a 32-degree approach angle and 24-degree departure angle. Ground clearance is likewise unspecified at this time. The 200 Series had 9.1 inches. The wheelbase of the new SUV, however, measures the same 112.2 inches as its predecessor. The new Land Cruiser's bodywork, which we've seen in previously leaked images, is more blocky and features a bigger grille, but is clearly evolved from the previous model. Toyota says features such as the headlights and taillights were deliberately mounted as high as possible where they'd be less likely to be damaged off-road. Three different front ends are offered, two feature horizontal grille slats and a more street-friendly appearance, while the GR Sport trim wears a black grille and bumper that adds a more off-road-ready look to the model. The Inside Scoop The 2022 Land Cruiser is entirely new inside as well. Up front is a more modern horizontal dash supported by a blocky center stack topped with a widescreen infotainment display. A smaller display splits the twin analog gauges in the instrument cluster. Read More https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-toyota-land-cruiser-first-look-review/ ???? BMW X7 (2022) - Large Luxury Family SUV! 08:34
BMW X7 (2022) - Large Luxury Family SUV!
Thanks: Global Motorsports https://www.instagram.com/globalmotorsportsnashville/ 2022 BMW X7 Starting at $75.895 Highs Cushy ride and hushed cabin, silky, powerful engines, Alpina XB7's outrageous performance. Lows Short on cornering poise, limited room behind the second row, slow-moving power-folding rear seats. Verdict Despite the cabin's space constraints, the X7 is a large and lavish SUV with delightful powertrains. Overview Not that long ago, the BMW most likely to double as a personal limo was the 7-series sedan, but the 2022 X7 SUV is stepping into the role of rolling palace for the rich. With more real estate to exhibit its expensiveness and six seats spread among three rows, the biggest Bimmer is well-suited for affluent families. While the cargo area and way-back seats aren't as roomy as those in rivals such as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, the X7 drives better and boasts a selection of more desirable powertrains. Backed by a terrific automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, the engine hierarchy includes a 335-hp turbocharged inline-six and a 523-hp twin-turbo V-8. The 612-hp Alpina XB7 affords ridiculous levels of performance for a machine this massive. Regardless of what's under its high hood, the 2022 BMW X7 has gobs of upscale content and high-tech features as well as an interior that's as quiet as a library but both comfier and ritzier, making it an Editors' Choice winner. What's New for 2022? For 2022, BMW makes only small changes to the X7 lineup's option packages. While wireless device charging is no longer standard, enhanced Bluetooth is, and the M50i model now comes with power sunshades instead of manual ones for the second-row windows. The Dynamic Handling package (upgraded M Sport brakes, active suspension stabilization, etc.) and rear-wheel steering are no longer available as individual options on the xDrive40i model. Pricing and Which One to Buy xDrive40i: $75,895 M50i: $100,795 Alpina XB7: $142,295 Despite our fondness for horsepower and the twin-turbo V-8's blistering acceleration, we'd recommend the X7 xDrive40i. The six-cylinder powertrain that we experienced was silky smooth and plenty quick. It has a host of desirable standard features that include four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, heated front seats, a power tailgate, and more. We'd also add one of the Vernasca leather upholstery choices and the Premium package. The latter includes a head-up display, gesture controls, and soft-close doors. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The entry-level X7 xDrive40i is powered by a 335-hp turbocharged inline-six-cylinder, and the M50i has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 that makes 523 horses. The Alpina XB7 has a specially tuned version of that V-8, which develops 612 horsepower. All three engines pair with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. We found the six-cylinder model to be torquey and quiet, but the V-8 was more charming, and its acceleration was more urgent. Its standard air suspension with adaptive damping provides a smooth ride, especially in Comfort mode. Unfortunately, the X7 has a tendency to lean in corners, which belies its otherwise athletic demeanor. The selectable Sport mode tightens things up slightly, with sharp impacts intruding on the interior's otherwise placid calm due to the narrow sidewalls on the 21-inch wheels. Those who want the mightiest X7, and can afford its steep asking price, will appreciate the Alpina XB7. The version BMW had us drive around a tight racetrack boasted astonishing acceleration and demonstrated surprising poise. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Borrowing partially from the smaller BMW X5 SUV and partially from the upscale 7-series, the X7's rich interior is well-appointed, tech-packed, and spacious. Plenty of luxury features can be found inside as well, including heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and ambient interior lighting. However, we were irritated by how slowly the power-operated, second-row captain's chair moved when trying to let people in and out of the third row. Likewise, the way-back seats aren't especially roomy for adults during prolonged drives. Still, no one will complain about the X7's ample interior cubby storage. ... 2023 BMW XM - BMW's Most Expensive Powerful SUV! 10:38
2023 BMW XM - BMW's Most Expensive Powerful SUV!
Thanks: 3D Rental Car https://www.instagram.com/3drentalcar/ https://home.mobile.de/3DRENTALCARGMBH 2024 BMW XM Starting at $160.000 est Highs Luxe interior, powerful plug-in-hybrid powertrain, enough electric driving range to run in-town errands. Lows Has a face only a mother could love, busy ride, not as quick as other high-dollar performance SUVs. Verdict The XM is nearly as quick as an M3 sports sedan but offers similar luxury as the 7-series, and that combination is what makes this SUV unique. Overview The 2024 BMW XM SUV is on an ambitious mission to target the pinnacles of performance and luxury simultaneously. Behind its overwrought snout lies a twin-turbocharged V-8 that's enhanced by a plug-in hybrid system, which combine to produce up to 738 horsepower. The result is a rocket, capable of hitting 60 mph in as little as 3.7 seconds. It can also motor itself around on electric power alone if you only need to run a few errands. And you might just choose the XM for such tasks since its cabin is richly trimmed, comfortable, and spacious. BMW has added all of its most desirable tech features too, including a curved dashboard display and the latest driver-assistance systems. While it's quick in a straight line, the XM isn't as joyful to drive as the company's vaunted M3 and M5 sports sedans. But if corner-carving isn't on your driving menu, the XM's got panache and power out the wazoo and we'll be damned if we can find fault with that. What's New for 2024? An even more powerful Label Red model joins the lineup for 2024 and boasts a 738-hp variant of the XM's plug-in-hybrid powertrain. BMW says the extra power is enough to launch the XM Label Red to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, which is likely conservative since we estimate the "regular" 644-hp XM can do that in 3.8. The Label Red will command a hefty premium over the base model, but pricing confirmation should arrive just before the Label Red hits dealers at the end of 2023. Pricing and Which One to Buy XM: $160,000 (est) XM Label Red: $186,000 (est) The XM's starting price is high, but it does come loaded with luxury features, including leather upholstery, huge 23-inch wheels, a cool curved infotainment display, and a host of driver-assistance features. Engine, Transmission, and Performance A twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 isn't new to the BMW powertrain portfolio but in the XM it's partnered with an electric motor and a battery pack to create a whopping 644 horsepower. Output rises to 738 horses in the Label Red model. During our first test drive of the regular XM, we noted the powertrain's immediate punch and estimated that it should get the XM to 60 mph in about 3.8 seconds. When we get a chance to test it on our home turf, we'll update this story with the results. But if our estimate is correct, that would put the XM at a disadvantage when compared to other performance SUVs such as the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, both of which delivered zero-to-60-mph times of 3.2 seconds in our testing. The XM uses a coil-spring suspension system that's augmented by adaptive dampers and active anti-roll bars. The result isn't as compliant and composed as it would be had BMW chosen to offer an air suspension, but in the Comfort driving mode, the ride is far from punishing. When set to Sport, the XM's handling is responsive and eager which makes it good fun on a twisty road. Range, Charging, and Battery Life The XM's 25.7-kWh battery pack is said to be good for about 30 miles of electric-only range per charge. BMW says the XM's onboard charger is capable of juicing the battery at up to 7.4 kW and should be able to charge up to 100 percent in a little over three hours. Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG The EPA hasn't released estimates for the XM's fuel economy yet but, despite its status as a PHEV, we aren't expecting Prius-level fuel-sipping from this big, high-performance hybrid. When we get a chance, we'll take the XM on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route and update this story with its real-world test results. For more information about the XM's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Everything about the XM's cabin is high-end, including its optional vintage-look leather upholstery that was first shown on the concept car. The XM's cabin is strictly a two-row affair, and in place of a large panoramic sunroof, the XM can be had with a geometric-patterned faux-suede headliner that features fiber-optic lighting that's used to dramatic effect. An optional audio upgrade adds a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with tweeters that illuminate. Read More https://www.caranddriver.com/bmw/xm ???? 2023 Cadillac Escalade V - Wild Large Luxury SUV! 08:45
2023 Cadillac Escalade V - Wild Large Luxury SUV!
Thanks: Global Motorsports https://www.instagram.com/globalmotorsportsnashville/ Website: globalmotorsportsinc.com 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Tested: Power and Money Cadillac's new flagship SUV tries to justify its $151,490 price with 682 supercharged horsepower. Cadillac has done to the Escalade something it should have done nearly two decades ago: give its full-size SUV the V treatment. Admittedly, the ethos of the American luxury brand's performance arm has become somewhat muddled in recent years, what with the V lineup now split between tamer V-badged models and full-on V Blackwing high-performance variants, such as the 10Best-winning CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. But there's nothing confusing about the new 2023 Escalade-V. Its mission is one of power and prestige. We certainly won't call the Escalade-V tame, as it packs a 682-hp wallop from a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8—a hand-built mill that's closely related to the 668-hp supercharged V-8 found in the CT5-V Blackwing, though the engine in the SUV trades the sedan's 1.7-liter Roots-type blower for a larger 2.7-liter unit. With the help of standard all-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission, this blown V-8 propels the standard-wheelbase Escalade-V to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds—1.7 seconds quicker than a 420-hp 2022 Escalade Sport Platinum we tested. Set aside the stopwatch and the Escalade-V feels properly quick from the driver's seat. A tap of the model's V mode button in front of the shift lever activates this brute's highest dynamic settings and engages its launch-control feature, which holds the engine's revs at around 1500 rpm when the driver has both pedals mashed to the floor. Lift off the left pedal and the immediate acceleration provided by the torque-rich V-8—Cadillac claims 80 percent of the Escalade-V's 653 pound-feet of torque is available from 2000 rpm—is akin to the initial surge of a moderately powerful electric vehicle. HIGHS: NASCAR-worthy exhaust note, fade-free Brembo brakes, no loss in on-road comfort. Unlike an EV, though, the subtle whine of the Escalade-V's supercharger and the raucous wail of its active exhaust system bring a symphonic quality to its straight-line acceleration. Even at idle, the V's quad pipes emit a menacing burble (Stealth mode does let you quiet things down for the school pickup lane). At speed, the system exhales with loud crackles and pops when you abruptly lift off the accelerator. Flat-footing this 6290-pound SUV results in 85 decibels of mostly exhaust noise entering the cabin. That's 10 more decibels than an Escalade Sport Platinum, which sounds roughly twice as loud. Yet, like the aforementioned Sport Platinum, just 66 dB of sound finds its way inside the V at 70 mph. Cadillac also altered the Escalade's suspension and braking systems for V duty. Tweaks to its air springs and adaptive dampers lessen this elephantine SUV's body motions with little sacrifice to its ride quality. And six-piston Brembo front brake calipers endow the V with a firmer and more responsive brake pedal. Though the brake pedal of an Escalade-V ESV we drove around Arizona struck us as a tad too grabby, the short-wheelbase model Cadillac sent to our Ann Arbor, Michigan, office for testing exhibited no such issue. Despite its upgraded binders, our Escalade-V test vehicle's 178-foot stopping distance from 70 mph is four feet worse than that of an Escalade Sport Platinum. Blame the V's 192 pounds of additional mass and its 22-inch Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 all-season tires. It's the same rubber Cadillac fits to all Escalades, and the sole setup offered on the Escalade-V. But the V's brakes remained more consistent during our testing, resisting fade, and with no brake-overheating warnings popping up as has happened when testing lesser Escalades. While the V treatment does make for a better-handling Escalade—which in standard form we'll grant is already one of the more athletic examples of its kind—the enjoyment that comes from being behind the wheel of this body-on-frame Cadillac still falls short of that offered by unibody competitors such as the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 and the BMW Alpina XB7. Both of those quicker and nimbler Germans hit the mile-a-minute mark in under four seconds and are available with sticky summer tires from the factory. No surprise, the Escalade-V's 0.69 g of cornering stick around our skidpad fell far short of the two German SUVs' 0.92-g runs. The V is held back by an overly intrusive stability-control system that pours salt into the Caddy's lateral-performance wound, just like all of General Motors' full-size SUVs. 2023 Kia Telluride - Ultra High-Tech Large SUV! 10:29
2023 Kia Telluride - Ultra High-Tech Large SUV!
Thanks: Greenway KIA Hickory Hollow https://www.instagram.com/greenwaykiahh/ http://greenwaykiaofhickoryhollow.com/ 2023 Kia Telluride Starting at $37.255 Highs Stylish and comfortable family transport, long list of standard features, top models offer near-luxury experience. Lows Sedate on-road demeanor, could be more fuel efficient, occasionally overzealous driver-assistance features. Verdict Well-priced, nicely equipped, and unquestionably refined, the Telluride is the complete package. Overview A regular on our 10Best Trucks and SUVs list, the 2023 Kia Telluride is a well-rounded package with handsome styling and a bargain price. The Telluride offers a generous set of standard features throughout its range, and its top trim delivers an elevated experience that's comparable to SUVs that cost twice as much. A smooth-running V-6 engine, a quiet cabin, and confident handling give the Telluride a refined feel on the road too. A 5500-pound towing capacity makes the Telluride useful for hauling a small boat or camper, and its spacious and comfortable cabin is ideal for long-distance cruising. Not only does it flawlessly fulfill its mission, the Telluride sets the standard for the rest of the mid-size-crossover class. What's New for 2023? A styling refresh for 2023 updates the Telluride to make it even more attractive, including a refreshed grille, redesigned headlamps, and a new front bumper. Inside, Kia has integrated a new all-digital instrument panel with dual 12.3-inch screens serving as infotainment and gauge displays. We've seen similar layouts on luxury vehicles including the BMW iX, the Cadillac Escalade, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, so it seems Kia is taking a note from the class above. Navigation is now standard across the lineup, as is an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. More rugged-looking X-Line and X-Pro trims join the crew and unlock the Telluride's maximum 5500-pound towing capacity. Pricing and Which One to Buy LX: $37,255 S: $39,155 EX: $42,855 EX X-Line: $47,050 SX: $47,055 SX X-Line: $50,450 SX X-Pro: $51,450 SX Prestige: $51,955 SX Prestige X-Line: $53,350 SX Prestige X-Pro: $54,350 We can't resist recommending the SX trim. It delivers a near-luxury experience with all the bells and whistles at a still-reasonable price. The SX comes standard with high-end features including a 12-way power driver's seat, black-painted 20-inch rims, a Harman/Kardon stereo, front and rear sunroofs, and second-row captain's chairs. Those who want the added sense of security that comes with all-wheel drive can have it for an extra $2000. Engine, Transmission, and Performance Under the hood of every Telluride is a naturally aspirated V-6 that makes 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Its engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission that feeds the front wheels in the standard format—all-wheel drive is also optional across the board. The Telluride X-Line we tested sped to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. However, the big Kia didn't feel as responsive to throttle inputs at lower speeds as did some of its turbocharged rivals. The Telluride's ride is on the firm side, with harsh pavement sometimes throwing the three-row SUV off its intended path. A self-leveling rear air suspension is also available. Brakes are excellent and the steering is precise with a nice heft to its feel. The Telluride boasts up to 8.4 inches of ground clearance for off-road excursions, and it can tow up to 5500 pounds. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Regardless of people's opinion about the Telluride's bold outward appearance, its interior is undeniably upscale and comfortable. The build quality is excellent, the materials are attractive, and the desirable features are plentiful. The SX trim tops them all with the fanciest options, which include driver's seat memory settings, a head-up display, heated and ventilated rear seats, a premium headliner, and nappa leather upholstery. Because the Telluride is several inches longer than the seven-passenger Kia Sorento, its cabin is even more spacious, especially for those in the wayback seat. There is room for eight with a second-row bench seat or room for seven with the optional captain's chairs. Along with ample interior storage throughout the cabin, we managed to fit four carry-on suitcases behind its third row and stuffed a total of 35 carry-ons with both back rows folded flat.
