Back in 2009, horror fans weren't exactly thrilled with what was hitting the screens. It was like horror hit a dry spell towards the end of the 2000s. Sure, if you dug deeper, you'd find gems like The Collector, Laid to Rest, and Paranormal Activity, but even they didn't exactly set the box office on fire. Studios seemed confused, throwing stuff out there and hoping something stuck. And then there was Pandorum, which had potential but just didn't land quite right.
