The O'Jays ~ I Love Music 1975 Disco Purrfection Version

 Discografia dos Anos 70

Just finished this one to get it out there today! IDK if this is too much for y'all but here it goes!

If there was ever a time to rediscover this one, now is the time. They were singing "music IS the healing force of the world" and the universality of it is encapsulated by its being "understood by every man, woman, boy and girl". I Love Music.

I can remember the Sunday evening radio playing this while I laid in my bunk bed waiting for my bowling league parents to come home from their only social activity around 10PM. I heard so much great music on the radio from a station our next door neighbor's daughter/babysitter those evenings and this one really stood out.

It took Gamble & Huff a little while to finish "I Love Music" but their ode to the music finally made it to vinyl. The recording sessions took longer too, at least three times, the first take would be recorded the way The O'Jays wanted it to be. The second would be recorded the way that Gamble & Huff wanted and the third was to be a happy jam session where both sides got what they wanted.

That session turned out to be the longest track the band MFSB ever recorded with a spectacular guitar solo from Bobby Eli with Norman Harris playing off him. The enthusiastic orchestra kept it real with a solid bedrock of bass and drums with a strong string section that takes you off into the sky.

The song was put together in the studio, most of the down time was spent on perfecting the background vocals which does take a lot of time, but when the results are as stellar as this all is forgiven.
