In 2009, X-Men Origins: Wolverine caused quite a scandal when a workprint version leaked online weeks before the movie opened. Nowadays, that would be enough to kill a film, but the movie still pulled in respectable grosses worldwide. While no one remembers the workprint situation now, the film still has a terrible reputation mainly due to the shocking way the character, Deadpool, was used in the movie. Everyone thought Ryan Reynolds was ideally cast, only for him to turn up at the end of the movie as the “merc with a mouth” but - WITHOUT A MOUTH! Alas, this is only one of the many reasons why X-Men Origins: Wolverine has become an obscure entry into the saga. With Wolverine finally getting a legit team-up with Deadpool in next summer’s Deadpool 3, let’s look at their pretty terrible first movie together.
