The final game in the Lotus trilogy is, in some respects, a bit of a let-down.
In terms of content there's plenty to get your teeth into. The game has a huge number of tracks split across three difficulties, and there are almost limitless possibilities if you want to create your own tracks with the RECS system.
Unfortunately, it just lacks the same level of appeal as its predecessor. The new course themes aren't that great, particularly the futuristic zone and its annoying track-side magnets and energy barriers, or the wind course and its turbulent gales.
There's also the fact that this game really struggles at times on the A500. Some of the courses are OK, but the cliff-side tracks just slow to a crawl. This isn't a problem for the A1200 and its beefier 68020 CPU, but the game is an OCS/ECS game, so that's the hardware configuration I recorded this on.
It's by no means a bad game, just not as good as Lotus 2.
