* Julie Covington nasceu em Londres, em 11 de setembro de 1946.
É cantora e atriz, mais conhecida por gravar a versão original de "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", que ela cantou no álbum conceitual de 1976 "Evita".
* A gravação de Covington da canção "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" alcançou o nº 1 nas paradas inglesas em fevereiro de 1977.
* Mais tarde ofereceu a oportunidade de originar o papel na produção teatral de Evita, ela recusou, o que levou Elaine Paige a ser escalada. Falando em 1985, Covington expressou algum arrependimento por esta decisão mas explicou que ela não gostava de Eva Perón e que sem algum sentimento positivo pela pessoa ela tinha preferido recusar o papel.
* A peça interpretada por Elaine Paige estreou nos palcos em 21 de junho de 1978.
