“Gochu （郷中）or Gochu” is a unique youth education system in Satsuma han (currently Kumamoto prefecture in Kyushu) in those times, that was voluntarily practiced in areas. The most significant future is, Gochu had no teacher where the seniors instructed the juniors, the fellows in same age helped each other. That is, learn as he teaches and teach as he learns.

“don” is Mr. or Ms. of Kagoshima's dialect.
