Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
The third game in Atlus' Power Instinct series, Gogesuji Legends proves to be a very accomplished versus fighting game. Players choose a pair of fighters -- leader and a partner -- to take into battle against opposing teams, duking it out in traditional best-of-three round bouts, with the winner progressing to the stage of the competition.
The twist comes at the very end of the game, where the party leader must engage in a final showdown against their former partner. I guess the idea is that you should be familiar with their combos, strengths and weaknesses, so this should help in setting up strategies to defeat them.
Other than that, the game is fairly typical of its kind. It features a counter system which works a little bit like the parry mechanic in Street Fighter: Third Strike, except it's much easier to execute, and each character can unleash a super special once their attack gauge is filled. This is a solid fighting game and decent fun - definitely one to try.
