FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WKRC) - Nearly a month after Fairfield Police Officer Bryan Carnes shot and killed Logan Williamson, 37, as he was stabbing Michelle Henry, also 37, the body camera footage has been released by police.
The video reveals Officer Bryan Carnes had no choice but to shoot and kill Williamson. The videos from body cameras of two officers were released after a motion for a temporary restraining order to stop their releases by the family of Henry was denied by a judge.
On the morning of June 22, Carnes arrives at a townhouse after Henry called 911 screaming for help.
The video shows the officers knocking down the door of the townhouse and rushing to the second floor, following a blood trail and screams for help. Carnes breaks down the bathroom door as Williamson is stabbing Henry and fires eight shots, hitting Williamson six times.
Williamson died in the bathroom, Henry died later at the hospital. According to a police report, Henry was stabbed 53 times with three different knives.
Butler County prosecutor Mike Gmoser says this was the worst scene of domestic violence his office has ever seen.
Gmoser says Henry called police multiple times on Williamson but never filed any protection orders.
Carnes was cleared by a grand jury with Gmoser calling his actions "textbook."
