The Amiga version is a conversion of the original Sega Megadrive game developed by David Perry and colleagues at Virgin Games USA.
The objective is to collect a set number of spot tokens in each level then locate the cage with one of Spot's buddies and shoot the lock on it to end the level. If you get 85 spot tokens or more, you'll get access to the bonus stage where you can collect an extra continue. There are 6 bonus stages, so once you collect the continue from each of them then you won't get access to the stage for the rest of the game.
The Amiga version lacks the smooth scrolling and some of the visuals of the Sega Megadrive and SNES versions, but it has the best audio effects and music of all the versions hands down.
I think the only real niggles I have with the game are the 8 way shooting controls; since the Amiga has a single fire button, jump is mapped to up, so you can't fire up without jumping first. This can make hitting things above you a pain since you jump into them first and lose some health.
The other minor niggle is the time limit on some of the levels, which can be quite tight; if the timer runs out you lose a life and get a full clock reset (I do this on a couple of levels since if you collect roughly 90 tokens then you'll earn a bonus life at the end of the level to replace it).
All things considered, it's a great title.
Enjoy!
