I can't say I know much about the history of SNK fighting games, but I remember the first I saw Art of Fighting 3 running, and being blown away by the huge sprites and super-detailed character animation; it looks amazing.

From a gameplay perspective, AOF 3 feels slower-paced and more tactical than other fighting games. Characters have the usual set of special moves, but I found the real power lies in the combo system, thus having to learn various button combinations.

If you enjoy tournament fighters, this is one to consider.
