Here we have a 2013 Mac Pro cylinder computer, aptly named the "Trashcan" which we will disassemble a bit and clean with some compressed air and some Isopropyl Alcohol.
These systems are cleaned regularly, at about twice a year, so there's not much inside, but hopefully you'll enjoy the video and get something positive out of it.
In an effort to not continually purchase cans of air for cleaning various gadgets, I bought an electric battery-operated compressor, which was a pretty decent choice given the buffet of them on Amazon. I'm pretty sure they're all about the same, but some of them are rated worse, which I would personally steer clear from. Although, that said, there are some electric compressors that are corded, which means you plug them into the wall to use. Those are great, but more industrial, and they are less friendly towards being lightweight and travel-friendly. :)
Along with that compressor, I have a hodge-dodge toolbox with every tool in it that I have collected in the last 22 years of doing IT. Some of my tools are still from my college days, and they keep on tickin'. Others are from the dollar store such as my tiny philips head or flat-head screwdrivers (the small ones). Others are specialized, like my iFix It sets that are specifically made with computers in mind...
Finally, I don't rip the whole computer apart as this was meant as a field-strip sort of way to clean the insides of these computers without adding risk of damaging some of the critical components that are on the inside of the cylinder core, such as the processor, and everything else.
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this video, and if you haven't already done so, please consider subscribing to our channel as it really does help us create more content for you guys in the future. Hit thee like button if you liked it, too. Anything helps these days.
Thank you for watching!
